Martin can advise on techniques, methods and product development as well as drawing on his valuable experience as a show director for 5 years. Current clients include the Southport Flower Show where Martin organises and hosts the successful Garden Roadshow and he and Jill also contribute the horticultural and cookery content of the show’s E-newsletter. At the RHS Malvern Spring Festival Martin runs the ‘Get Going, Get Growing’ gardening theatre and he is one of the team of gardening experts at the Woburn Garden Show. Martin also advises the Yorkshire Agricultural Society on turf and ground care, to ensure the showground is in top condition for their premier event, The Great Yorkshire Show.


As an experienced garden journalist Martin is happy to contribute to company websites, blogs and newsletters. Martin can represent companies at public and press events and is competent at speaking to press and public. Martin is currently Briggs and Stratton’s Lawn Care Adviser and head judge for their annual Britain’s Best Lawn competition.He is the Brand Ambassador for Blacksmith Hanging Garden products and is featured on Blacksmith’s website as their garden expert giving hints and tips on planting and maintaining their range of baskets, mangers and containers for all year round interest.


Martin carries out training days for local authorities park departments, garden centres and horticultural companies. He can cover a broad range of subjects including product training and hands on workshops including pruning, turf care and planting. Previous clients include Newark & Sherwood Parks Department, Mansfield District Council, Bayer Garden and Three Counties Training Group.
